Mugen Monday - 24th Edition

For Those Who Dare Dream.

If one has exposed oneself enough to shonens such as Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, or Demon Slayer, one would recognize that a formula that seems to work phenomenally well for Shonens is to have a batch-by-batch system, along with a certain university that focuses on its own power-mechanics. However, did you know that the batch system (juniors, seniors, and our hero and his two supports whose journey we follow) is not only applicable within the walls of fiction?

It seems even Shonen have their generations - Naruto, Bleach, & One Piece are easily considered the big three of the last two decades, 2000-10-20. But with the recent generation of Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man already running out - are we currently in a ‘new prominent upcoming shonen’ crisis?

  • Today, we will inspect if the recent mass-hit shonens are about to near their end of life.

  • With Demon Slayer having ended and Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia almost ending, are we nearing a lack of big shonen crisis?

  • While shows like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece have been overtaken by Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, do we no longer have any more prominent series?

  • Is the short-running nature of the new generation shonens a reason why such a crisis is happening?

Well, it will be a fun ride, why don’t you stick til the end?
